Review Board is Review-Driven Development

We’re sort of reframing what Review Board is.

Code review is important, maybe more important than ever, but inherently focuses on the end result. We’ve long done Image Review and Document Review, which is also not Code Review. And now that development is changing, as AI takes on more of the process, review needs to involve the work items AI will pick up, any planning or assets that precede the change, and any weigh-in from other people or agents involved in the project.

So we’re rethinking Review Board’s role as more an end-to-end Review-Driven Development tool.

Not just code review, but the review of the high level and the nitty-gritty. The staging of the work and the end result. The things that keep teams able to collaborate and build a product without it going off the rails in siloed one-off Claude or Codex sessions.

This is the Mission Control feature we’re building right now for Review Board 10.

And like everything we do, this will focus on on-prem, privacy, security, and work with existing tooling (rather than yet another walled garden dev ecosystem).

Planning to talk more about this as we get closer to having something to show.
