libsexy just got sexier. David Trowbridge (of Fyre, xchat-gnome and BZFlag fame) wrote a cool GtkEntry subclass that provides inline spell-checking. It works just like GtkTextView with GtkSpell. True to the name of the library it resides in, SexySpellEntry is very sexy.

Brilliant. This is the first step towards spell checking across the entire desktop – I see Linspire have something that does spell checking across their KDE desktop, hopefully Gnome will be able to offer that sort of functionality in a future release.
What other “form” elements can be implemented this way?
Why isn’t this on cvs.gnome.org and/or an offocial component of the GNOME platform?
Great stuff! What about integrating the dictionary too, so there is no need to start the dictionary and then copy+paste words.
